We aim to establish a sporting culture that enables and encourages all children to play and enjoy sport. We have established a number of after-school clubs for our pupils offering a wide variety of sporting opportunities for our children. We enter numerous school sport competitions to allow children to be competitive and are constantly developing our PE programme.

finals, but finished in 4th place out of all schools in Southwark. Well done to the children who represented
A group of Keyworth children attended a Southwark schools curling event and won the silver medal.

Years 5 and 6 Football Football Competition
The year 5/6 football team had a fantastic day on Wednesday, not only competing in but winning the LPESSN Trophy. We stormed through the group stages winning every single game with player of the match performances from Amelie and Aliyah, Noe scoring a stunning hat-trick in another game and Mikel, Romeo, Jemma and Isaac all chipping in with valuable contributions. The semi-final was a more challenging affair. After going a goal down, we managed to get the game through to penalties. Goalkeeping heroics from Shaloom ensured that we were in the final! The final was another tight game. Twins Jayden and Jordan both put in brilliant performances to make sure we were bringing the trophy home. A huge congratulations to the whole team who were all fantastic ambassadors for Keyworth Primary School.
Athletics competition – written by Jason
Yesterday, children in years 5 and 6 competed at the PESSN Athletics competition. The children performed well and were awarded a second place finish due to their determination. Special praise for Nathan who received a star certificate in acknowledgement of his hard work. This now means Keyworth have qualified for the Southwark Athletics finals, which will take place in January.
Wednesday 30th October – Mixed Tag Rugby Tournament
Congratulations to Keyworth’s mixed, tag-rugby team on finishing 3rd in the “Moving Matters” rugby tournament. Cruising through the group stages, the team won 3 out of 3 games without conceding a try! During a nail-biting quarter final, Isaac “the tag-master” scored a last second try to send Keyworth through to the semi finals. The team narrowly lost in the semi final 1-0 to a very impressive Henry Cavendish School, who were the eventual winners. In the 3rd/4th place match, again it went down to the wire. A “golden try” from Jevon ensured that the team secured a fantastic 3rd place finish. A big shout out to Rugia, Abdurrahman , Isaac and Jevon for their incredible work in defence. Additionally, a massive well done to Tianna, Amelie, Mikel and Nathan for their speed in attack! Lastly, a special mention should go to Shaloom who performed amazingly well in his first rugby competition and Nia who passed with great accuracy, while playing scrumhalf.
A huge congratulations to our girls’ rugby team who finished joint 1st in a PESSN tag-rugby tournament ! The girls showed excellent teamwork and communication skills, which resulted in them only conceding one try all tournament! A special well done goes to Amelie, who won player of the tournament and Tianna who finished top try scorer!
