We have started off the year in a lovely new building and are all set for an exciting and challenging year. Already, we have completed our first whole school project, called the Keyworth Urban Art Project. Throughout various lessons, we looked at how graffiti has evolved as an art form – from its first sightings on ancient cave walls in 30,000 BC to the work of modern day artists, like Banksy, who aim to highlight social and political issues.
We also went on to create artworks inspired by the graffiti artist, Invader, who specialises in creating pixelated art that can be seen in large cities in more than 20 countries across the globe.
