Throughout your child’s stay at Keyworth After School Centre, they will experience activities that help to build self-esteem, confidence, social skills to help them develop positive relationships with their peers and adults alike.
Children are involved in several activities and have access to different toys and equipment and are challenged and stimulated to experience new skills each day.

We are excited to announce Keyworth is participating in the ‘Chess for Schools’ programme this year!
There will be a fully trained tutor running an after school club for 16 students in years 4-6.
The club will run from 3:30pm to 4:30pm. You should pick your child up from the school office at 4:30pm.
Chess is an effective and affordable educational intervention, promoting key academic and social skills that children will use throughout their lives. The game helps them to think logically and solve problems, it develops sportsmanship and resilience and it teaches children to plan ahead and take responsibility for their actions. Chess has also been positively linked to academic performance.

This year Becki will be running Keyworth’s ‘Magazine Club’. Children will help organise the school magazine, write articles and judge competitions. This is a fantastic opportunity for children to apply skills they have learnt at school and work as a team to meet deadlines. At the end of the club the whole school will be given a copy of the magazine the children created to take home to parents and carers!
Magazine Club takes place straight after school on Wednesdays and children will need to be picked up from the office promptly at 4:45pm.
The club starts Wednesday 19th September and is available to selected children.
