Admissions to Reception are handled by Southwark through the Common Application Form, which is available online at www.southwark.gov.uk. Admissions at other times are handled through our school office, if you are moving from another Southwark school, or by Southwark, if you are moving from outside the borough.
Admissions to Keyworth Primary follow the Southwark community schools criteria. This means that priority is given first of all to looked-after children, then to siblings of children who are currently attending the school, then to children with particular medical, social or psychological needs, then finally on distance from the school.
Children can join the waiting list for our nursery at any time, however they will only be considered for a place once they are aged 3 years and a term. Places are dependent on the current nursery cohort and the availability of spaces. If you would like to discuss this further please feel free to contact the school.
In addition to this, Keyworth Nursery also accepts children of families who are eligible for the free 15hrs of childcare. Parents can check their eligibility using the Southwark’s local authority website. If parents are eligible, they will be given a code. This entitles parents to a free half-day Nursery session in addition to their statutory free 15 hours per week. We ask that the 15 free hours be used by attending a full day in Nursery.
Nursery children are able to stay for lunch at Keyworth Primary School. Children who stay for lunch are given a hot meal at a cost of £2 per day, £3 is charged for lunchtime supervision. If parents wish to make their child a packed lunch, the £3 cost will still be applied for lunchtime supervision. Parents are also able to take their child home for lunch where no cost will be applied.
Children are eligible for admittance to nursery in the term following their 3rd birthday. Applications are made by completing an application form available from the school office.
If you would like to add your child to the waiting list for a place at our Nursery you will need to complete the Application for Admission to Primary School including Nursery Class – Form PA1.
Once you have completed the above form, send the form to firstname.lastname@example.org. Alternatively, please come into the office between 10am and 2:30pm for assistance in completing the application form.
If you have any questions regarding the application process for Nursery please call the school office.
Early education benefits children’s social, physical and mental development and helps them prepare for school. Evidence shows that regular and good quality early education has lasting benefits for all children.
Keyworth’s Little Stars is a provision that is offered to families who are eligible for free childcare for two-year-olds. This means families who apply, must be in receipt of a qualifying benefit.
You can apply at emsonline.southwark.gov.uk to check if you are eligible.
Keyworth can not offer parents a free 2 year old place unless they are able to provide a confirmation of eligibility email/letter and a 2 year old eligibility code beginning with TYF210XXXXXXXXXXX, you’ll need to take a copy of your confirmation message with your reference number to our school office.
The earliest you can apply for free childcare, is at the start of the term in which your child turns 2, but the childcare will not actually start until the beginning of the term after you apply.
If this is something that you feel you would be interested in please fill out the form below and return it to the school office.
On receipt of the information, the school office will arrange with the Nursery a suitable date for a home visit.
